Based on the award-winning reference book Ken Schultz's Fishing Encyclopedia, this handy field guide compresses the essence of its bestselling predecessor into a more manageable, compact size. Arranged alphabetically by species, each entry covers the identification, size/age, distribution, habitat, life history/behavior, and feeding habits of each fish. This fully illustrated, full-color guide makes it easy to identify what's at the end of your line. You'll learn how to distinguish an Atlantic mackerel from a Spanish mackerel, for instance; why you might mistake a cobia for a shark or a remora; how the red grouper's saddle spot will help you tell it apart from a Nassau grouper; and so much more.

Grenada, der er en "turistguide" om øen og øens historie.
Since its decimation by Hurricane Ivan in 2004, the three-island state of Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique has been rebuilt, renovated and improved. These islands are once more open for business, and enjoying a newfound prosperity as visitor numbers increase year on year. Grenada has national parks that teem with wildlife and trekking opportunities through forests of nutmeg, avocado and mango trees. Neighboring Carriacou is one of the Caribbean’s top diving destinations and Petit Martinique is a laid-back paradise with unspoilt, secluded beaches.

The Rough Guide to Trinidad and Tobago is the definitive guide to the most exciting and unexplored of the Caribbean islands. The full-colour section introduces the islands’ diverse highlights from tropical bird watching in Northern Trinidad and the secluded wave-whipped sand at Tobago’s Pirates bay, to hiking in the forested peaks of the Northern range. This updated fourth edition gives expert background on everything from exotic wildlife to Trinidad’s flamboyant pre-Lenten Carnival celebrations. You’ll find detailed coverage of Trinidad’s best hikes, where to watch turtles laying eggs and sample the island’s delicious cuisine, as well as an appraising rundown of what to do in Tobago, Trinidad’s more tourist-oriented sister isle. The Contexts section provides informed coverage of the islands’ history, politics and current affairs, as well as the low-down on soca, calypso and steelpan, religion, fauna and flora, and books, while the patois glossary unpicks local slang. This guide comes complete with clear maps and practical information on accommodation and transportation; and recommendations of all the best places for eating, drinking, and music.

Your First Atlantic Crossing, som bare fortæller om at sejle og hvad man kan komme ud for, men også om hvordan man skal nyde det undervejs.
Answering all of the important questions, this book attempts to allay any novice's fears - not just about how to sail an ocean for the first time - but also how to enjoy it. Here are insights into the social as well as nautical reality of fitting out, the comfort of having highly detailed plans, the norm of impulsive decisions, the inside story of life with a crew, coping with unexpected gales and calms, the live-or-die decision to keep watches or not and the ports of call from Spain to Tobago via the Atlantic islands and West Africa. Your First Atlantic Crossing combines practicalities with experience, and is now established as an essential read for ocean novices and dreamers. In colour for the first time, it is the book Les Weatheritt wishes he could have read before his own Atlantic crossing. 'I shall enjoy dipping into this dream maker, time and again...an excellent guide to the planning of your Atlantic crossing. Read all the other books but keep this one beside you' Cruising Association 'Offers down to earth advice based on hard-won experience' Yachting Monthly 'Covers everything the novice sailor needs to know for a voyage across the Atlantic' Practical Boat Owner.
